PUBLIC DEBATE: Does Labour Have the Policies to Tackle Inequality?

6th February 2018 , 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

An evening of discussion with four leading figures, including Angela Rayner and Polly Toynbee, exploring policies to end the scourge of rising inequality.
At the 2017 General Election Theresa May repeatedly claimed there was no ‘magic money tree’ to achieve social change on this scale. Labour in contrast proposed a combination of a fair taxation system with borrowing for investment to deliver a more equal society to the benefit of all. But ending inequality isn’t easy.
Previous governments, including Labour ones, have failed to affect the kind of reversal of deeply rooted power that such a programme requires. Can Jeremy Corbyn do any better? And if he does, what would a fair and equal Britain start to look like? Join us at the All Saints Centre in Lewes  on 6th February to start to find out the scale of the challenge and the promise of the ambition.
The talks start at 7:30pm, doors open 6:30pm.
Tickets are £5 and available now at Union Music Store (1 Lansdowne Place, Lewes) or online at
