OPEN MEETING: Socialism by Design: What does the art of change look like?

4th December 2017 , 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

An evening of artful discussion about design and its role in politics with one of the country’s top banner makers Ed Hall.

Ed’s banners were widely featured at the Brighton Labour Conference fringe festival ‘ The World Transformed’, he has designed banners  for trade unions, CND and Palestine Solidarity, perhaps most poignantly families and friends of those who have died in police custody to aid their campaign for justice, and featured in the artist Jeremy Deller’s  as well as exhibited at the Venice Biennale exhibition.
Ed will be joined by Peter Brawne and Sophie Gibson the graphic designers behind ‘Matter’ who produce Lewes Labour’s monthly meeting posters (like the one here!) with Naomi Salaman and Zuky Serper, originators of the idea of a Lewes Labour art school to collect ideas and makers to create a new Lewes Labour banner.
