After the season of peace and goodwill, a New Year discussion on the very real threat of Donald Trump vs Kim Jong-Un escalating towards nuclear war in 2018.
What is the political alternative Labour should be proposing to what is a truly terrifying prospect that so many feel we are powerless to prevent?
To brief us on North Korean politics one of the few who knows the country and its regime, Owen Miller, lecturer in Korean Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. And outlining the kind of defence and security policy that a future Labour Government might adopt towards peaceful conflict resolution Mary Kaldor. Mary’s long-standing involvement in these issues dates back to the early 1980s when she helped found, and lead European Nuclear Disarmament. Currently Mary is Director of the Civil Society and Human Security Research Unit at the London School of Economics. All welcome for what promises to be an evening of informed discussion.
Doors open 7pm for 7:30pm start.
Refreshments available.
Open to everyone, not just Labour members.
