Lewes Labour’s North Street HQ will now be open every Saturday 9am – 11am for a new community drop-in session so that we can hear from Lewes residents about which local issues you are most concerned about.
The new ‘Community Surgery’ is the brainchild of Emily Clarke, who already runs a family drop-in on Tuesday afternoons (1.30pm – 3.30pm).
Emily says: “I think it is important to engage with the community as much as possible and hear from them about what local issues affect Lewes residents the most. Not only will it help to shape our campaign for the County Council elections in May, but if we win a seat it will enable us to truly represent our community. I don’t think we should wait for an elected Labour MP to open a Surgery when we can do it now.”
Emily Clarke is the prospective County Council candidate for the Lewes division in the May elections.
