With the support of local food banks and charities, Emily Clarke, (Labour candidate for the Labour Town division in next May’s East Sussex County Council elections) has launched a new campaign to boost vital donations of food by encouraging customers to donate the freebie from their 241 supermarket deal to their local food bank: #241forFoodBanks

In the lead up to Christmas there were trolleys for donations at the front of Lewes Tesco with the #241forFoodBanks signage and leaflets, to raise awareness of the campaign and test the reaction, before it is officially launched with ‘end of aisle’ store presence in 2017.

The official launch of the project took place at Lewes FC’s home match on Saturday 17th December.

Emily says : “I knew it was a busy time of year, but it was really great to have some lovely Lewes Labour people with the trolley and to have an incredible amount of donations at the football match. We’re going to keep this going throughout 2017 as so many people now need the help of Food Banks to make ends meet.”
